Monthly Writing Challenge
(To Participate)
Monthly Writing Challenge Guidelines:
1. Only Valley Byliners members in good standing
may participate.
2. All entries must be unpublished, original pieces.
No past entries should be re-submitted to the
contest.
3. Only one entry per participant accepted per
contest.
4. All entries must be family-friendly as per our
collaboration with the Harlingen Public Library.
5. All writing challenge entries should be submitted, without the author's name, to rgvbyliners.org by
8:00 PM on Tuesday before the month’s regular
meeting.
Entries will be e-mailed, WITHOUT the author's names, to all Byliners members to read and vote by the Wednesday morning prior to the month’s regular meeting.
Valley Byliners will vote by Friday 10:00 p.m. and email the votes to the same email.
Voting

Byliners members for review on Wednesday
before the meeting by 10:00 p.m.
2. Voting will be done by members in good
standing and emailed to:

by the Friday before the monthly meeting.
3. Winner/s will be announced at the next Valley
Byliners monthly meeting.
Writing Challenge Critique
Any author who wishes his or her entry to be critiqued must label his or her work “Critique Invited.”
Anyone wanting to critique an entry can send the critique to rgvbyliners@gmail.com
Each Byliners member can cast a vote by sending it to the e-mail address listed above.
Voting and critiques will be accepted until 10:00 PM Friday prior to the month’s regular meeting.

Critiquing is not mandatory and is at your discretion.
The winning author will receive:

a certificate from the Valley Byliners Organization in recognition of their winning entry.

All entries must adhere to each month’s specific genre and word limit.
