Mona D. Sizer is the author of 34 books of contemporary and historical adult fiction, young adult and adult non-fiction, true crime and poetry. She was a finalist in UPSTART short film script contest 2005 and 2006. She was contacted recently by Jordan Bloch or Jordan Bloch Enterprises regarding her script "The Librarian" for possible Hollywood short film production. She is currently at work on her 35th book, a collection of Texas biographies, Texans Outrageous: Larger than Life. A recent experience in writing found her editing as well as contributing to the Valley Byliners newest book Tales Told at Midnight along the Rio Grande. A former high school and college teacher, she loves to talk to school groups.

 

Her book The King Ranch Story, Truth and Myth will be available at the Dia de Los Niños/Dia de Los Libros Festival In Edinburg April 28th for the first time in its new Fourth Edition.  Her collection of biographies Texas Heroes, A Dynasty of Courage is in many elementary and middle school libraries for high level readers.  Her most recent books are Texas Disasters: Wind, Flood, and Fire and Before the Wind: Poems out of my Life and Thought. She is a regular contributor to LifeTimes magazine, a Blue Cross, Blue Shield publication.
