We are a writer’s support group located in Harlingen, Texas.

We meet on the second Saturday of each month 1:30 p.m. in the Harlingen Public Library. Meetings usually last about 90 minutes and typically include a short program on some aspect of writing. Visitors are welcome and are encouraged to join. Dues are currently $20 per year.

Text Box: Verne Wheelwright’s Personal Futures Workbook “I am very pleased to announce that the Fourth Edition of the Personal Futures Workbook is now published and available at www.personalfutures.net . This new version of the Workbook has been realigned to make it fully compatible with my book, It’s YOUR Future… Make it a Good One! New features in the Workbook include: · New or expanded worksheets (SWOT, Vulnerability Analysis, Gap Analysis, etc.) · A section on Futures Wheels · More photos and more color The Workbook continues to be a free download from my website. It carries a Creative Commons license and can be shared anywhere. Many of the changes to the Workbook were suggested by people on this list, a great resource! I try to limit my group emails, so if you would like more frequent updates you can follow me on Twitter (@urfuturist), become a fan on Facebook (Personal Futures Network) or read my blogs (www.wfs.org and www.yourpersonalfuture.blogspot.com) . The Personal Futures Workbook appears to be in use around the world, as my web site analytics show visitors from 50 or 60 different countries each month. Several schools are using the Workbook in their classroom, from graduate classes to high school students and even one junior high school, that I know of. The largest numbers appear to be students of Foresight and Futures Studies, but there seems to be a growing interest in business schools and in businesses as part of leadership learning and other areas. In line with growing interest by business, I’ve been invited to address HR executives at the World HRD Congress in Mumbai in February. Personally, I believe that Personal Futures is an excellent way for individuals in any field to get an overview of futures methods. The scalability of futures methods allows people to learn at the individual level and apply that knowledge or understanding at any level. Thank you again for your interest and continued support! In her extensive work in the military market, she has researched, interviewed and written about individuals who played a role in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and more recent wars. In both her nonfiction and fiction titles, she focuses on making the characters real. Jackson St. between Commerce and A Streets on the south side of Jackson in downtown Harlingen. The owners, Leo and Carmen Garza, will be providing coffee, hot chocolate and cookies for refreshments.
